Our Company
Businesses depend on financial support and management to succeed. This support must be available when needed and the support must be accountable and affordable. Owl Bookkeeping and CFO Services was started in 2002 by President and Owner Stephanie Laitala to respond to those needs. Owl provides outsourced accounting services to small and mid-sized companies through full charge bookkeepers, controllers and CFOs. These bookkeepers and CFOs are available to provide everything from basic bookkeeping to long-range strategic planning. By providing emergency, urgency and ongoing financial management and support, Owl helps business owners who don’t have the time, experience or desire to manage the day-to-day financial details of their business and who would prefer, instead, to focus their energy on growing the business.
Owl team members are hired using a custom-designed employee profile. The Owl system ensures staff members are exceptional. They are people who know numbers and work well with other people. A thorough screening process eliminates all but the highest level, most ethical, interesting and resourceful individuals. The Owl structure helps both the client and the consultant work successfully together by providing support and a network of advisers for specialized information as well as a broad base of contacts in the financial and business communities.
A Bold Mission
Owl’s business mission is to change the world, one well-run business at a time. I know what you’re probably thinking – “you’re accountants!” But why not a bunch of accountants? We handle one of the most stressful things for a business owner – their money and their fiscal health. If that’s not in order, it’s hard to focus on anything else. But business owners who get clear on their vision, who avoid costly pitfalls and build growing, secure businesses, create an environment that fosters loyal, productive and happy employees. Happy employees go home to build happy families. And growing companies and strong families build strong communities. The ripple effect of one well-run business, of one business owner not worried about money, is huge. It’s world changing. We believe it and we have the power to do it.
