Never Stop Learning
A while back, Forbes published a list of traits of highly successful entrepreneurs. One of them caught our eye: curiosity.
Curiosity is, indeed, a critical entrepreneurial trait. We are not talking about the kind of curiosity that creates shiny object syndrome (where you are constantly getting distracted by hypothetical product and service line extensions).
We are talking about the kind of curiosity that makes you want to ask questions and learn more.
When you lead a business, you get used to having the buck stop with you. You are mentoring everyone else — but who is teaching you? From whom do you learn?
We want you to keep asking questions. You might even find answers among your own employees who specialize in areas that do not come as naturally to you.
Ask your marketing guru how to determine ROI of marketing initiatives, or why no one scrolls down on the web anymore.
Ask your CFO for a few ideas on how to free up cash flow, or what he or she thinks are the most important numbers to look at each month.
(Don’t have a CFO? Here’s another question you can ask: “Dear Owl, how can I land an affordable, rock-star CFO?”)
Happy learning!
Less cost. Less payroll. More profits.
